Strengthen the ideological line of defense for safety, Solidify the foundation for enterprise development.
Safety is the top priority of development, the eternal theme of well-being, and a vital project that comes before everything, rises above everything, and outweighs everything. If safety is compared to the lifeline of enterprise development, then safety culture is the nourishing blood in that lifeline.
On October 23, 2020, Huai'an Huaining Steel Structure Co., Ltd., a professional steel structure manufacturer, launched a series of activities for the "Work Safety Knowledge Training Course". The training was lectured by the Administrative Director and the Director of Safety Supervision (Environmental Protection) Department.
The main content of the training included:
safe operating procedures for equipment such as cranes, shot blasting machines, and spraying equipment;
common knowledge on the use of welding fume purifiers;
safety accident cases involving people around us;
and watching educational warning videos of accidents.
The warning video presented on-site videos of typical work safety accidents, analyzed the causes and lessons of the accidents, and clarified the measures and requirements for accident prevention.
By watching the warning video, all cadres and staff further understood and mastered the necessary production safety knowledge, improved safety awareness and self-protection capabilities, and received in-depth safety education.
The Director of the Safety Supervision Department explained the **"Ten No-Lifts"** for hoisting operations.
Hoisting is a high-risk operation, so ensuring its safety is critically important.
1. Do not lift loads exceeding the rated capacity.
2. Do not lift when the command signal is unclear, the weight is unknown, or the lighting is dim.
3. Do not lift if the slings and accessories are not securely bound and fail to meet safety requirements.
4. Do not perform direct processing while the crane is hoisting heavy objects.
5. Do not lift with oblique pulling or slanting hanging.
6. Do not lift if there are people standing on the workpiece or movable objects placed loosely on it.
7. Do not lift explosive materials such as oxygen cylinders and acetylene generators.
8. Do not lift objects with sharp edges or corners before proper padding (to prevent wire rope abrasion or cutting).
9. Do not lift or pull buried objects without taking proper measures.
10. Do not lift in case of illegal command.
Finally, the Administrative Director re-emphasized:
Every operator must keep the **"Six Characters"** in mind before entering the production workshop and throughout the operation:
**Wear, Put On, Observe, Check, Rectify, Strictly Follow**
- Wear: Put on work clothes and labor protection shoes properly.
- Put On: Wear safety helmets, face shields, goggles, gloves (except for drilling and punch press operators), and masks.
- Observe: Check the ground, surroundings, and overhead area for potential hazards.
- Check: Inspect mechanical equipment and stacked materials for hidden safety dangers.
- Rectify: Report and promptly correct hidden dangers found; do not start equipment until hazards are fully resolved.
- Strictly Follow: Operate mechanical equipment and work in strict accordance with safety procedures, and eliminate unsafe human behaviors.
By following the above "Six Characters", we shall achieve the **"Nine No-Harms"**:
No illegal operations, no illegal command, do not harm others, do not be harmed by others, do not be injured by mechanical equipment, do not be hurt by other unsafe objects, do not be harmed by electricity, do not be harmed by harmful gases, do not be harmed by fire.
We aim to realize the goal:
**"Safe work every day, sound health every year."**
At the end of the training, all participants expressed that the vivid cases and tragic scenes provided a powerful and vivid safety education lesson.
The lessons learned from blood and tears warned us once again that work safety is not only closely related to the economic development of the enterprise and social stability, but also closely linked to the vital interests of every employee.
We must keep the accident lessons firmly in mind, strictly operate in accordance with regulations and abide by labor discipline at work, resolutely ensure that production does not start without safety, and prioritize safety before production, so as to solidly complete all work safety tasks.
